Product Introduction

SKF high‑temperature bearings are specially‑modified single‑row deep groove ball bearings engineered to operate reliably under extreme‑heat environments, where standard grease‑lubricated bearings will fail rapidly due to lubricant carbonization and thermal deformation. These high‑temperature units adopt graphite‑based permanent lubrication, extra‑large radial internal clearance and manganese‑phosphate anti‑corrosion surface treatment. Their overall dimensions fully comply with ISO standards, enabling direct interchange with conventional deep‑groove ball bearings without modifying shafts or housings.

There are three mainstream suffix variants: VA201, VA208 and VA228, each designed for distinct temperature, speed and sealing requirements.

VA201: Maximum continuous working temperature up to 250 °C. Lubricated with polyalkylene glycol‑graphite compound grease. This open‑type bearing has no built‑in shields, with an extremely low limiting speed of max 250 r/min. It is the cost‑effective solution for low‑speed, high‑heat conditions.
VA208: Rated for continuous‑service temperatures up to 350 °C. Self‑lubricating segmented graphite cage supplies solid graphite lubricant throughout the whole service life. It can be supplied as open‑type or fitted with double‑sided metal shields (‑2Z), and supports higher speed than VA201. No re‑greasing maintenance is required during operation.
VA228: 350 °C high‑temperature grade, equipped with integrated double‑sided non‑contact metal shields from factory. The built‑in shields lock graphite lubricant inside the bearing cavity and block hot dust, flue ash and debris. VA228 is the preferred sealed‑type selection for dusty high‑temperature working sites.

All VA‑series high‑temperature bearings feature greatly enlarged radial clearance (equivalent to 4 times of standard C5 clearance), which compensates for the large‑scale thermal expansion of bearing rings and rolling‑elements under long‑time high‑temperature running. Every metal surface receives manganese‑phosphate coating treatment to improve lubricant adhesion and provide corrosion‑resistance during shutdown cooling cycles. They are lubricated‑for‑life and do not need periodic grease replenishment, reducing maintenance work in hard‑to‑access high‑temperature equipment.

Common complete bearing model examples: 6205‑2Z/VA208, 6310/VA201, 6213‑2Z/VA228.

Typical application scenarios include industrial furnaces, oven conveyors, kiln rollers, drying equipment, heat‑treatment machinery, asphalt plants, boiler auxiliary fans and other low‑to‑medium speed high‑temperature rotating equipment.
